I have been warmly welcomed by the wonderful Arboria residents and staff. My path to Arboria has been a diverse one. I received my Bachelor’s in Education from Millikin University and began teaching second grade. After eight years as a classroom teacher, I stayed home to raise my son and daughter. Many years later, I attended graduate school at Aurora University where I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work with a focus on Gerontology. I began my second career as a social worker by helping seniors and their families navigate and access services. I found my passion while working with families caring for loved ones with dementia. As a Certified Dementia Practitioner my goal is to engage and enhance the lives of those living with dementia. As the Director of Memory Care at Arboria of Long Grove, I am here to support and educate the entire family and staff as dementia impacts everyone. In my free time I enjoy being outside, hanging out with my children, and walking my two spoiled dogs.
