Arboria residents and families spent countless hours looking for that perfect place to settle down. They deserve and expect a quality dining experience that stimulates their body and mind. This is where I come in! My name is Toby Pearson, I am the Director of Culinary Services. Arboria allows me the opportunity to ensure that our residents get great tasting food and the best possible service. I am trained and very capable of preparing various types of modified diets and thickened liquids due to dysphagia. We can also help our residents manage different types of food allergies to prevent anaphylaxis. I fell in love with the ability to put smiles and joy in the lives of those I cook for and have never looked back. I am a veteran of the Armed Forces, I have three children and am married to a wonderful (and very patient) woman! I love Chicago and all the different dining options the city has to offer, it continuously inspires me in my craft throughout the kitchen!
I come to Arboria with an extensive background in management and hospitality. I have a diverse background and I worked in the hotel and construction field before exploring my passion for building operations. I feel this gives me a well-rounded path which allows me to see all aspects of my job from various perspectives. I am passionate about serving others and providing outstanding service. Here at Arboria I oversee the building systems which include mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire and life safety. I make it a priority to ensure the safety and comfort of each and every family. I have three boys, a beautiful wife and an adorable rat terrier named Jersey. In my free time I love to volunteer with my sons athletic organizations, fishing and barbeque.
My name is Jada Higareda and I am so excited to be a part of the fabulous team we have here at Arboria. My background like many others on our team is quite diverse. I originally went to school to peruse my passion for baking and to receive my certificate as a lead baker. I have 11 years experience in the healthcare field and began working as a business office manager in 2015. I originally started in the dietary/culinary department while attending college and was given multiple opportunities for advancement with different areas of the healthcare field, making my way up to administration. I loved having the opportunity to be able experience healthcare from so many different perspectives. I was very excited to join the team at Arboria, as I have never been a part of a brand new building and it felt like a fresh revitalizing start!
Pam Weeks RN, LCSW
Hello I am Pam Weeks! I grew up in Rochester, New York and have two children a boy and a girl in their mid-twenties. I attended Valparaiso University in Indiana for my BSN and University of Illinois Chicago for my Masters in Social work. I have spent the majority of my 30 year nursing career working in the psychiatric field with teenagers with psychiatric or addiction struggles. I moved my career path to the geriatric population when my children were teenagers six years ago! The common thread between the two populations is that, for the most part, either group won’t hesitate to tell you what they are truly thinking or feeling. I love learning from my senior’s life experiences and I very much enjoy listening to their stories. I chose to become part of the team at Arboria because I wanted to be part of a team that was dedicated to laying the fundamental ground work and setting high expectations for how our residents will be cared for. I can train our team with skills but you can not teach them compassion. They either have it or they don’t and I am proud to say that my team has PLENTY of compassion and they share it routinely with our residents.
Callie Zurek CTRS, CDP
“Spread love everywhere you go, let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”- Mother Teresa. This is a quote I have kept with me my whole career. My name is Callie Zurek and I am our Director of Life Enrichment at Arboria. I have been in healthcare for almost a decade now and have spent 7 years of that dedicated to the geriatric population. I received my Bachelor’s of Science from Indiana University in Recreational Therapy. I am a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist and a Certified Dementia Practitioner. I love working with the geriatric population because there is so much opportunity and potential to help seniors continue to explore and enjoy their passions through adaptability. I am local to the area having grown up in Palatine and am now building my own home in Fox River Grove. Although I do not have any children yet, I do have 2 very special “boys” in my life, my husband who I have known since high school and “Knox” who is my second medical alert Service Dog, whom I was recently paired with. I am truly passionate about providing the most innovative and cutting edge adaptable care to all of the seniors that I serve.
